Item description:

In 1990 Tonga issued a set of 3 stamps for Natural Energy and Power. The issued stamp is shown in the scan. However before the final designs were accepted, the printers had an essay done showing similar design, but the design was part of a newspaper headline. This essay is the only one done for this design. The officials felt the newspaper idea made the design look too crowded, and the design without the newspaper look was accepted. Lovely UNIQUE exhibit item from the printers archives.
